O Christmas Tree

Kylie was so excited to set up the Christmas tree this year! She woke up early the day after Thanksgiving (grumble, grumble...I was up half the night shopping online!) and dragged us out of bed to get started on the tree. It was fun teaching her how to space the ornaments and watching her little mind work. We were lucky enough to have Brian home for Thanksgiving for the second year in a row. He'll be home for Christmas too.

This Week

In the time it took me to run upstairs and answer the door, Kylie and her friends helped Lilly help herself to some yogurt and Kylie took pictures with my camera. By the time I got downstairs, the cat's head was pretty well covered in yogurt. Lovely.
Here's a picture of the bookmarks that I made for my Young Women lesson today on Righteous Living. It's fun to be with the Beehives (12-13 year old girls) with their enthusiasm and energy. I love the Young Women program and its amazing potential to change lives by helping the girls build a solid foundation of faith. To learn more about the Young Women program, click here.

New Kitty! (part two)...Meet Lilly

Kylie was so thrilled to come home from school to find a kitten in the backyard! She decided to name it Lilly.
Sallie is not impressed.

New Kitty!

While waiting for my vehicle inspection at the tire store, this cute little kitty was hanging outside looking hungry and lost. Long story short, I got talked into taking it home. It will be an outside cat. Our Sallie cat is not happy with this recent development and is glaring at it through the window. It's just a cute little thing!

Disney on Ice

Last night we went to Disney on Ice with Kylie's friend Jenna and her family. We were happy to have Brian come along with us after being gone at work for so long. Brian definitely enjoyed the show more than Kylie did. Kylie looked pretty tired, just sitting there taking it all in. Brian, on the other hand, was singing and laughing along with the show. Kylie didn't get excited until Mulan came out. Then she started singing her little heart out!

Halloween

Friday was Kylie's class Halloween party. Being a Room Mom, I got to join in the fun. We decorated pumpkins, had a costume parade (Kylie was a kitty, but wouldn't wear her costume because it got too hot), and the kids read cute Halloween poems.
Here's a cute picture of the girls beating up their Uncle Wes after Sunday dinner.
Friday night we went to our church's Fall Festival...and couldn't get Kylie to dress up. Saturday I forced (yes, forced) her to go trick-or-treating with some friends at the mall and grocery store. She tolerated it, but certainly wasn't thrilled. I should have taken pictures then. Halloween night she did NOT want to go trick-or-treating, even with friends. So we stayed home, watched a movie, ate soup and rolls, and stayed nice and warm. My only complaint? She didn't get enough chocolate candy for me to steal!
