My 2 Favorites
It doesn't get any better than my two favorites put together in the same room: Andrea Bocelli and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

It's Not Unusual
It's not unusual to see deer wandering through the neighborhood, winter or summer. I believe the three that came through our yard today are the famed triplets I've been hearing about this past year. They hung out under our big pine trees, looking for something to eat and enjoying a surface not covered with snow. Then the neighbor's dog figured out they were there and the deer went bounding away.

Those are some big ears!

Thank You, Sallie
Kylie had finally fallen asleep and I was sitting back ready to watch Lost. I had my feet up and a bowl full of apple crisp on my lap. Suddenly I hear a loud crash come from Kylie's room. I instantly recognize the sound of a box full of Legos crashing down from a top shelf. My only thought: "Freaking cat!!!"
Remember this picture?
Tonight the cat was up to it again. She was climbing around on top of Kylie's shelves and tried to step down onto the Lego box that was sticking out from the shelf. The box of Legos went crashing down, spilling everywhere, but somehow the cat managed to stay on the boxes.
The last time she tried this maneuver she ended up crashing down with everything else. Brian and Kylie were lucky enough to witness that one first-hand. Fortunately for me (and the cat...grrr) Kylie somehow slept through it all.
Freaking cat.

Cuteness!
My mother-in-law needed an item to give to each participant at the conclusion of a class to remind them of the things they had learned. The challenge was to buy/make 70 items for around $10. The item needed to include a saying of some kind that they had adopted during this class. She asked me to help her (at the last minute) to pull something together. I wanted to make magnets from clear glass pebbles, but couldn't find any large enough. However, I did find a package of assorted wooden circles at Hobby Lobby. The ones I used are the size of a quarter. I printed the saying on two different kinds of card stock, cut out the circles with an exacto knife (looking back I would have splurged to buy a circle punch), glued the paper to the wood using Mod Podge, distressed the edges with a brown ink pad, then applied Mod Podge over the top and sides to seal it all together. I bought a roll of adhesive magnet and cut off one-inch pieces and adhered them to the back. Thanks to everyone for your last-minute ideas! I'm definitely using this project in the future.

Space Bubble
Kylie has been having a hard time waking up for school this week. This morning I sat on her bed and started scratching her back saying, "Kylie, it's time to wake up." She would groan and turn onto her side to bury deeper into the covers. I sang her a good morning song and rubbed her feet. Without even cracking open her eyes she said, "Mom, get out of my bubble!" While I found this both shocking and hilarious, I managed to keep from laughing and moved down the mattress. When asked how she learned about space bubbles she informed me that everyone has a bubble, and I just popped hers! Well, the only thing left to do at that point is tickle her and say, "Poke! Poke! Poke!" She woke up smiling after all.
