My Favorite Place
My new favorite place is The Children's Place. Browsing online, I fell in love with their style. I also found a 30% off coupon which I brought with me to the store. Not only were the baby clothes on sale, but I got 30% off plus another 10% off for opening an account! 40% off the sale prices! Knowing that this was a special event, I bought lots of baby clothes in all sizes, plus found a bunch of outfits (and Christmas secrets) for Kylie. I don't love the styles these days for girls--it's all about being a punk rock star. Plus the 80's are still trying to make a comeback. But we managed to find a few outfits that she loved with cheetah prints. That girl is all about the animals!

Impromptu Jackson Hole Trip
As previously mentioned, Brian is working up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming on a Search & Rescue contract. Being the end of the tourist season, there isn't a lot going on and he has a lot of time on his hands. Kylie and I decided to drive up Sunday afternoon and visit for a few days before school starts. Actually, Kylie decided that she could not go without seeing her daddy for another day. Being 7 months pregnant, I wasn't looking forward to making the 4 hour drive with a 7 year-old. Luckily, prayer works and I was sustained through the drive. Kylie of course wanted to bring her entire room with her, but settled on a few favorite animals.
We met Brian at Bubba's Barbecue when we pulled into Jackson. Kylie is a rib lover and was in heaven: ribs and her daddy, what more could a little girl want?!
Brian's company has a camper trailer set up for him to stay in, but it's a good 45 minutes north of Jackson. I was feeling pretty bad for him that he had that long of a drive to his bed every night...until I saw the view! I think he has the best commute ever! As we drove back to Jackson in the morning, Kylie and I stopped at a few spots to take pictures. It had rained all night and there were still a lot of clouds hanging around. But we're glad it rained because the 3 forest fires in the area made the air so hazy that you couldn't see the mountains.
Monday morning we picked up Brian from the heli-base had breakfast at The Bunnery (yum!) then spent the day wandering around Jackson.
Later that afternoon we went back to the hangar to have some down time before dinner. None of us has slept well the night before and we all needed a break. Kylie discovered that the mechanic had a trampoline in the hangar.
Brian's view from "the office"...not too shabby! The heli-base is located next to the Jackson Hole Airport.
Tuesday morning we packed up and drove back into Jackson to meet Brian for breakfast before driving home. Naturally the sky was clear and the mountains were gorgeous, and we had no time to stop and really enjoy it. I allowed myself one stop because I knew I'd be sorry if I didn't get a good picture. I love the Teton mountains and was so thrilled to see them every time we drove back to the trailer!

For Brian's Benefit
Brian has started a new Search & Rescue contract in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He'll be up there for about 2 weeks and then home for about 2 weeks. While he's gone, I'm employing the power of the internet to keep him updated on our daily activities. Today Kylie kept herself entertained for quite some time posing her tiny horses and taking pictures of them. She took approximately 1,000 pictures of each horse in various poses on the table...none of which were in focus. (Thank goodness for digital cameras and rechargeable batteries!) Then she got the brilliant idea to stick the horses in my planter to make it look like they were in the woods. These were the best of her many pictures. She is such a cute little bug! It's so fun to watch her little mind work. I can't believe how much time and detail she put into posing the horses and getting the camera angle just right on their faces or bodies, depending on the look she was going for. I think we may have a little artist on our hands!
After the horses' photo shoot we "headed into town" (aka drove into Logan) to do some school shopping. Kylie found some shoes that she absolutely loves--I need to get a picture of her modeling them. We couldn't find any clothes that we liked for her, but I found a couple baby boy outfits that I really love. My "nesting phase" has officially begun and I'm feeling anxious about getting everything in order. I also have more energy these days, which is wonderful, and I want to clean my house from top to bottom with a toothbrush. I'm going to applique a helicopter or two on some of these shirts, as seen on a previous post. It will be a fun project while Kylie is at school.
Big Fat Update
Last weekend was the Cache County Fair and Rodeo. I love the rodeo and made sure we made it to one of the nights. I couldn't get any good pictures because I haven't figured out how to set my camera for high-speed pics.
Our favorite part of the rodeo is watching the little kids clinging for dear life to the sheep for the Muttin' Bustin' competition. Every year Kylie watches it and says she wants to do it, but has never had the guts to actually jump on the back of a sheep. This year she declared that she could do it because it looks just like when she wrestles her Dad. Yeah, it kind of looks like that!
Last weekend was also my 10-year high school reunion. Having been on the Senior T.E.A.M. I helped with a few details of the evening. I even managed to drag Brian along with me as my arm candy. When the inevitable question of "So what have you been doing since high school?" came up, I realized that all I really had to talk about was Brian's exciting career, which has also been my life for the past 10 years. It was an enjoyable evening. More pictures are on my facebook page, if you're interested in seeing other people I went to high school with.
Thanks to our Senior Executive Council: Vance Daniels, Onalee Bradford, and Lisa Hyde for organizing the event!
We even had a surprise visit from a high school favorite: Chris Saunders performing a Michael Jackson routine. I captured some of the dance on video, which can be viewed here and here.
Here's the baby bump at 29 weeks. I'm officially in my 3rd trimester! It all sticks out in front like a basketball. Instead of calling it "The Bump", I'm starting to call it "The Melon".
Kylie's cousin Sierra has been trying to get Kylie to let her curl her hair. Kylie finally relented, saying that she could do ONE curl, but then she had to straighten it. After seeing the one curl, Kylie decided that it was pretty cute and asked Sierra to curl all her hair. It turned out so cute!
We watched Kylie shake her cute little thing at a cheer camp with her buddies Maggie and Libby. I don't imagine cheerleading will be her thing, but she had fun any way.
Later that evening we drove down to Layton to see Dave and Coleen, our awesome friends from our Louisiana days. You may remember them from this previous post and these pictures when Brian transported Coleen in his life flight helicopter. I haven't seen them since we moved 2 years ago and it was so wonderful to reconnect with them! What an amazing family! Living in Louisiana was hard, but Heavenly Father blessed us with amazing friends that continue to bless our lives. Love you guys!

I Want! I Want! I Want!
I made the mistake of browsing through a Gymboree store last night and found that they have an entire line of baby boy clothes with cute little helicopters! They are so amazingly cute! I splurged and bought this blanket.
If anyone is wondering what I need for this baby, I pretty much need everything. I'm starting from square one. I do have a car seat and swing. I have a wish list going on the side of my blog, but also need the basics too. We're getting so excited for this little guy to come!
**Update: a friend told me about crazy8.com that has Gymboree-style clothes. Check out the cuteness! And more in my price range.
