Growing Up

Kylie's 2nd grade year is almost over. Her teacher, Mrs. Chadwick, has been wonderful. The class put on a presentation with songs and poems and stories. It's been a great year!

Kylie's school has a reading program that allows the kids to earn points reading books and receive rewards, one being that they Rock the Halls. The kids get a medal, music is played all over the school, the classes stand in the halls, and the principal runs with the kids down the hall. Last Friday was the last chance to Rock the Halls for this year. Kylie worked so hard to earn enough points--she went to school early and stayed late to get her books read. She was so proud of herself for reaching her goal. We are so proud of her too!
Kylie got to Rock the Halls with her friend Cheri.

Jaxson is 7 months old and has outgrown his Tummy Tub. He loves bathing in the sink and will even sit down the whole time, unlike the Tummy Tub where he wants to stand and kick the water.

Catching Up

April Fools Day was a lot of fun at our house. Kylie was surprised to see her milk turn blue when she poured it into her cereal (a few drops of food coloring at the bottom of the bowl, pour the cereal on over top, then let them add the milk). Dinner was also full of surprises: meatloaf and mashed potatoes that look like cupcakes, breasticks with jam that look like french fries and ketchup, and a drink that won't come out of the glass because it's really jello. The asparagus is real. It's one of Kylie's favorite.
Brian was busy flying and we didn't see him much, so we drove down to Layton to spend a night with him. We took the kids to Classic Fun Park to play around.
Proof that I was there.
Kylie got a cool new bed--a loft bed, which is basically a bunk bed but without the bottom bed. My dad made this bed for me when I was little, and now it's passed down to Kylie. Sallie the cat thinks its an excellent bed, and I frequently find her sharing a pillow with Kylie.
Cute little Jaxson fell asleep while playing and stuck his thumb in his mouth. Sweet little 6 month old!
It was fun to watch Jaxson experience Baby Animals Days. He loved to grab the baby chicks. Kylie loved to hold the little animals and they always fell asleep in her lap.
I love showing Kylie inside the farmhouse. My great-grandpa donated that house to the historical farm.
This is my favorite picture. Jaxson loved the fuzzy baby birds and would grab a handful every chance he got.
The Easter Bunny left the traditional trail of candy to the Easter basket. Kylie loved her new horse stable. That girl is all about horses! Jaxson liked playing with the plastic eggs.
Jaxson started sitting up on his own. He's getting so big--I can't believe how fast these past 6 months have flown by! He's so much fun and such a sweet boy.
He loves playing in the grass, grabbing handfuls out of the ground and staring at it in his hands.
What a face! I don't get anything done--I just love on him all day long!
Jaxson got a new nickname with his new jammies: monkey butt.
Kylie and Brian have been anxious to go camping, so we set up the tent in the backyard. They braved the windstorm and watched movies in their sleeping bags.
Jaxson learned a new trick which he uses to entertain himself. He's so dang cute!
