Walking Man

I can't believe this little boy is already 11 months old! He is unbearably cute! Today he decided that he was going to walk all around the house. His first words were "nuh nuh" for food, followed by "mama" then "kitty" and "thank you". He still wakes up a lot at night, so it's a good thing he's so cute!

Cutting and Trotting

Jaxson before the haircut: And after:
He looks like a little boy, not a baby! The sucker kept him happy.
What a handsome little man!
Kylie participated in the Tri School Trot to raise money for her school.
She walked a few laps with her 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Chadwick.

And He's Off!

Disclaimer: if you're prone to motion sickness, do not watch this video. My sweet 8 year-old was in charge of the camera. Normally I wouldn't post such a wobbly video, but I really wanted my husband to see this milestone.

First Pictures

Brian e-mailed me a few pictures from Afghanistan. He hasn't flown the job yet and has been waiting for the helicopter maintenance to be completed. He's been there for 3 weeks and has read every book he brought with him. To keep himself busy, he helped the communications guys set up a satellite to get internet on the base.

Summer's End

A week before school started, we moved into our first home! We love it so much. Brian was home just long enough to move the majority of our stuff then got the call that he would be leaving the next morning for Afghanistan. With the help of friends and family, I finished moving into our home. When I get everything arranged and pretty I'll post pictures. Jaxson can finally take a nice long nap without being woken up. He's started sleeping on his tummy and wakes up with some interesting hair. One of the things Kylie wanted to do this summer was have a lemonade stand. We put all the unpacking on hold the day before school started to set up business on my parent's lawn. They have prime real estate for lemonade selling. Kylie sold 2 kinds of lemonade, 3 kinds of cookies, and a cooler full of popsicles.
Kylie started 3rd grade at Summit Elementary, and a week later changed back to Sunrise where she has been going to school for years. She is so grown up!
I have even got some crafting time in. I decorated this dollar store frame with paper and burlap that I have laying around. Total cost: $1.
