It's a Boy!!!

Today was our ultrasound to take a peek at our baby. The first thing they checked for was the gender, and it is definitely a boy! Kylie promptly hung her head and cried great big tears of disappointment. She really wanted a little sister! She cried throughout the entire appointment, poor girl. Brian's reaction was to whip out his cell phone and start texting like crazy. We couldn't get a good profile shot because of the way the little guy was laying and because the cord was in front of his face. Here's a face-down shot of him and his spine. This is looking down on him and he has his left arm bent and making a fist against his cheek.
Little tiny foot, and what I assume is a little tiny bum! :-)
Awesome shot of the spine, which makes him look like a reptile or something. They printed out some of the 3D pictures, but didn't put them on the disc, but we do have these short videos of the 3D. You can see him kicking (and a bit of his manhood) in one and his face in the other.

Price and Farming

Brian was flying a Raptor survey (counting birds) around Price last week. We didn't know when he would be home again, so Kylie and I stayed the weekend with him. Kylie loves staying in hotels and has been begging for months to go to a hotel. She loved the dinosaur museum and was so fascinated by the huge Mammoth and T-Rex skeletons. She enjoyed digging in the sand for dinosaur bones (something I remember doing as a child) and we got her a stuffed alligator from the gift shop, which she named Killer.
Before we left to come back home, we drove Brian out to the airport to meet his customers for another day of flying, and to see his new helicopter. He's been training in the A-Star and this was his first job in that bird. Kylie helped her daddy pre-flight the helicopter to make sure everything was ready for the day.
We were surprised when Brian came home a few days later and has had the rest of the week off of work. We spent some time on the farm turning wrenches and getting the swather ready to cut hay. The valley is so beautiful and green, which also means that it's been cold and rainy. I love these mountains!
Kylie brought her friend McKayla to the farm with us to see the new filly. I don't know what they named this one, or even how old she is, but she sure is cute!

Law of Probability

If there is clean laundry, the cat WILL find it and lay on it. Anytime, anywhere. She prefers the fresh laundry to be spread out on the couch in front of the heater vent. However, she is not one to shirk her duty and went ahead and found the clean laundry and did her thing anyway. It wasn't quite as luxurious, but sometimes you do what you gotta do.
