A Big Update--I Hope I Make It!

I have lots of updating to do. I'm feeling better these days. I've figured out that if I start feeling sick, I need to eat something, which goes against the very concept of feeling sick. But it works. We had another doctor's appointment and got to hear the baby's heartbeat again. At the end of May we'll find out if we're having a boy or girl. I still don't have any guesses as to what it is. With Kylie, I absolutely knew that she was a girl before we ever found out. No such luck this time.

Kylie was lucky enough to dye eggs twice for Easter. We had a few of her cousins over and they had a grand time going through at least 5 dozen eggs.

Easter morning Kylie woke up and checked out what the Easter Bunny brought her without even waking us up! Luckily I got a picture the night before.

The Easter Bunny leaves a trail of candy at our house. The trail is usually quite scattered by morning, thanks to a certain kitty named Sallie.

We barely had an outside Easter Egg Hunt this year. Enough of the snow melted to allow a fairly wet and mud-free hunt for the kids.

We love Baby Animal Day at the America West Heritage Center. Each year it gets bigger and better. Brian, of course, enjoys the old farm equipment more than anything.

Kylie's favorite attraction was the goats. She and I get a kick out of goats and their sounds. There's a goat or two at our farm, and they just make me giggle.

A baby lamb is the epic symbol of Spring. There was a couple baby lambs...with some very protective mothers.

This year they had 3 baby bears from Yellowstone. The line was insanely long, but it was fun to see the little fuzzy things.

Kylie was mesmerized by the baby turtles. Naturally she wanted to bring one home. They had the mamma turtle there, who was quite large. Sure, they start out tiny and cute...but then they grow into a huge adult. Nope, we're not bringing one of those home.

Kylie is determined to learn how to lasso, but won't let her dad show her how. Maybe she'll pick up on it if we spend enough time on the farm watching her Uncle Wes rope the cows.

Going for a wagon ride pulled by huge, gorgeous Clydesdale horses. They actually use the horses on the farm for work--a beautiful sight.

I absolutely love the view out at the Historical Farm. The Wellsville mountains are my favorite. I can't believe I'm lucky enough to (still) live here. Even though winter has been forever long, I still love it here in Cache Valley, Utah.

Kylie was absolutely enchanted by the little goats. She spent so much time in the pen with them, picking them up and letting them suck on her finger. She really wants a goat or two to take care of, so we're trying to figure out how we could make that happen for her. It's not such an easy thing when living in the city. The farm is 30 minutes away from where we live, so we couldn't go up every day to care for an animal.

This is the only crafty thing I've done for weeks/months. I try to take pictures of my projects so I can remember and some day duplicate the project. This was for a Beehive lesson on the temple.

Kylie is now sporting a cute toothless smile! What a cute little 7 year old! Her new teeth are already coming in so fast, she'll definitely have them for Christmas.
