Saturday, July 3rd, Brian had to work. His boss suggested that he take Kylie and I with him to enjoy the day together. We drove down to the Bountiful airport and helped Brian get the helicopter ready. This is the company's new Bell 205 Long Ranger. We flew 20 minutes east of Bountiful/Salt Lake to a family's ranch. The family was celebrating their dad's 65th birthday, and the dad surprised everyone with helicopter rides.
Kylie was so excited to go to work with Dad! She brought her fuzzy blanket and stuffed horse along for the ride for extra comfort.
There's our studly pilot in the front of the helicopter. We could only communicate over the radio headsets.
We flew directly over the Bountiful temple. I made Brian circle around it so I could get a few pictures.
Kylie was terrified of the take-off and ascent. She had a white-knuckle grip on my hand throughout the entire flight. I thought she was going to cry! Poor baby!
What a beautiful flight! It was absolutely breathtaking to fly over the mountain ridges. Many places still had snow.
We landed on a peak for about 10 minutes to make sure that we didn't make our appearance too early and ruin the surprise. I got out and walked around, enjoying the amazing view.
The family was so excited to see the helicopter land at their cabin. We circled around, looking for the best place to land, and everyone was pointing and taking pictures. Brian took about 35 people up that day, circling around the ranch and cabins. It was fun for me to sit on the patio and watch everyone's reactions to their ride. Kylie ran around, playing with all the kids.
Kylie was a much happier girl when we took off the second time...which was good because Mom wasn't feeling so well. I was tired, hungry, and sunburned and started to feel iffy. The last 5 minutes of the flight we descended into the Salt Lake Valley, and I knew I was in trouble. Luckily, Brian had stashed a couple plastic bags in back with us, and I was able to neatly puke into a bag over and over without messing up the pretty helicopter. All puking put aside, it was a fantastic day!

such a brave woman! riding in helicopters while pregnant is not far from the very top of my things to avoid! It's great that were toughened up for the family bonding and experience though :)
You're scenery pics where great to see :) Sometimes, not too often though, I miss Utah :)
