As previously mentioned, Brian is working up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming on a Search & Rescue contract. Being the end of the tourist season, there isn't a lot going on and he has a lot of time on his hands. Kylie and I decided to drive up Sunday afternoon and visit for a few days before school starts. Actually, Kylie decided that she could not go without seeing her daddy for another day. Being 7 months pregnant, I wasn't looking forward to making the 4 hour drive with a 7 year-old. Luckily, prayer works and I was sustained through the drive. Kylie of course wanted to bring her entire room with her, but settled on a few favorite animals.
We met Brian at Bubba's Barbecue when we pulled into Jackson. Kylie is a rib lover and was in heaven: ribs and her daddy, what more could a little girl want?!
Brian's company has a camper trailer set up for him to stay in, but it's a good 45 minutes north of Jackson. I was feeling pretty bad for him that he had that long of a drive to his bed every night...until I saw the view! I think he has the best commute ever! As we drove back to Jackson in the morning, Kylie and I stopped at a few spots to take pictures. It had rained all night and there were still a lot of clouds hanging around. But we're glad it rained because the 3 forest fires in the area made the air so hazy that you couldn't see the mountains.
Monday morning we picked up Brian from the heli-base had breakfast at The Bunnery (yum!) then spent the day wandering around Jackson.
Later that afternoon we went back to the hangar to have some down time before dinner. None of us has slept well the night before and we all needed a break. Kylie discovered that the mechanic had a trampoline in the hangar.
Brian's view from "the office"...not too shabby! The heli-base is located next to the Jackson Hole Airport.
Tuesday morning we packed up and drove back into Jackson to meet Brian for breakfast before driving home. Naturally the sky was clear and the mountains were gorgeous, and we had no time to stop and really enjoy it. I allowed myself one stop because I knew I'd be sorry if I didn't get a good picture. I love the Teton mountains and was so thrilled to see them every time we drove back to the trailer!

Thanks for those pics Katie, they are really beautiful. One of those you took of the Teton range with the river in the foreground has to be one of the most printed pictures ever. I have seen it on many calendars both in summer and winter and I recognized it right away even though you didn't have quite as good a vantage point as others I've seen. Take care.
